Join us (Julie Vallimont, Jon Cannon, and friends) to play wonderful tunes that just happen to not have many notes. Good for all levels. It's not a slow jam, but rather simple tunes at normal speed. Possibilities include jigs, polkas, slow reels, marches, French tunes, klezmer tunes, waltzes, and more. Bring a favorite tune to share!
Crankie Show & WorkshopPB Saturday April 22, 8:00pm to 8:50pm, High School Rm. 117 [show on grid]
Come discover the magical "crankie" - a movie on paper. This storytelling form dates back to the 1800s. A scroll of paper or other material is put in a special display box and a crank is turned to make the paper move. Often they have folk songs and tunes that go with them. Julie will perform some of her crankies and demonstrate some crankie making techniques.
