We are proud of what we have accomplished, but we are always trying to make the Festival even better. This year, we are making three changes: the Ramblin’ Road Show and Homemade Hootenanny, a Sampler ticket good for a limited time on Saturday, and we are moving most of the tables in the “Lobby” from the Hotel to the Trade Center.
Hootenanny: A traveling festival in its own right, the Ramblin’ Road Show and Homemade Hootenanny introduces a new generation to the life and times of legendary music makers, from Pete Seeger and Tom Paxton to Hootenanny hosts Bob and Jeanne Zentz themselves. Suitable for all ages, this all-day family-friendly activity area will feature vintage folk music exhibits, engaging stories, hands-on instrument demonstrations, and musical styles from traditional folk to YouTube sensations. Bob and Jeanne have created an inspirational presentation that NEFFA is proud to present.
Sampler: If you know someone who isn’t sure NEFFA is for them, we have a suggestion: the NEFFA Sampler Ticket! Saturday from 11-4, people can shop at our marketplace (vendors with dance shoes, musical instruments, and traditional crafts) in the Trade Center, watch traditional dances from around the world, or take their family to the family activities area. Sampler admission also includes admission to the Ramblin’ Road Show and Homemade Hootenanny. Then enjoy a snack at the food trucks while you watch the Morris and other teams performing outside. If they end up loving NEFFA as much as we do, we will gladly sell them a ticket which allows access to the rest of the Festival.
Lobby: This year, the lobby tables (tickets, membership, volunteers, and performer check-in) are moving to the Trade Center! Please park at the hotel (there’s much more room up there) then take the shuttle bus down to the Trade Center to get your Festival tickets. Instrument check, Safety/Parking, and the EMTs will remain in the Hotel. There will still be information tables in both places!
